Where strong winds blow

EARTH ART PROJECT in Ladakh 2017

2017

Matho Village (Ladakh, India)

Khadi (Indian cotton), acrylic

This work was created at an art festival in Ladakh, India, which I attended immediately after graduating from college in 2017.
I painted the winds of Ladakh with acrylic paints on two sheets of Khadi (Indian cotton).
It was displayed as a mobile painting on the road connecting the two schools where the art festival was held.

Ladakh is a land of strong winds and mountains with bare lands stretching far into the distance.
The Tibetan Buddhist prayer flags called "Tarcho" were fluttering everywhere.
This was very impressive.

The tulchos are fluttering in the wind and are used to recite sutras. Prayer is rooted in nature in this area.

The artwork also uses the blue, white, red, green, and yellow colors used in the tarcho
The work also expresses those who live in the five elements of heaven, wind, fire, water, and earth.
