Clay Play in Shanghai Japanese School

A workshop was held with 154 children from the Japanese School of Shanghai to create large works of art using six types of soil and shell powder from Yunnan Province.

What kind of landscapes do children who spend their days in Shanghai usually see? Through dialogue with nature, the children were able to experience the soil as they painted. The completed work, which is reminiscent of a moss mountain woven by microorganisms, expresses the resilience of small lives living in search of water and soil and the fascination of ecosystems.
